CALIFORNIA RENTAL HOUSING ASSOCIATION CALLS ON STATEWIDE MEMBERSHIP TO PROVIDE HOUSING RESOURCES TO LOS ANGELES FIRE VICTIMS

The statewide housing association has developed a website to serve as a central access point with resources and housing inventory to support those impacted by the devastating Southern California fires.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – California Rental Housing Association (CalRHA) has launched SoCal Fires Housing, a dedicated website to amplify access to resources for individuals and families affected by the recent Southern California fires. The site offers resources, including short or long-term housing inventory to those in need, and opportunities for rental property owners and the public to contribute to relief efforts.

“We are calling on our affiliates statewide to assist in providing housing for our neighbors in need,” said Adam Pearce, President, CalRHA. “Our hearts are with all of those impacted by this tragedy. Our members are stepping up to ensure that displaced residents have access to temporary and long-term housing – SoCal Fires Housing allows property owners to easily list their available units and helps renters in crisis find those listings and other essential resources.”

The website serves as a one-stop hub where rental property owners can submit available housing inventory, and individuals can sign up and get alerts for temporary or long-term accommodations. CalRHA encourages members to list properties of all types and sizes to help support SoCal fire victims – they can do so by completing the form located at https://www.socalfireshousing.org/.

The site also links to CalRHA’s regional affiliate, the Apartment Associate of Greater Los Angeles webpage, Available Rental Housing for Victims of Los Angeles Wildfires, where those impacted by the fires can explore available units and access additional resources in the Los Angeles Area.

“This disaster will strain California’s already limited housing supply. While we are doing everything we can to ease the burden on those who lost their homes, CalRHA’s long-term goals remain focused on increasing the overall housing supply and advocating for policies that will remove barriers that impede the rehabilitation and construction of new housing,” added Pearce. “We’re working hand-in-hand with government officials to streamline these efforts and meet the immediate housing needs of fire victims while promoting lasting solutions to bolster housing availability statewide.”
